Post-Union crowned cruciform shields, sceptres in angles, garter star at centre, date either side of top crown, MAG. BRI. FR. ET. HIB REG. (MCE 220; S.3572). Raised die flaw in hair otherwise with an attractive red tone, has been slabbed and graded by PCGS as AU58, we note currently across both services that only eight examples of the 1709 Guinea have been graded of which only one is finer than this piece.
