Charles I (1625-49), silver Sixpence, 1625, Tower Mint, group A, first crowned bust left, value VI in field behind, initial mark lis (1625) both sides, Latin legend and beaded borders surrounding both sides, CAROLVS. D; G; MAG; BR; FR; ET HI; REX., rev. cross fleury over crowned quartered shield of arms, date with Roman I above, .CHRI STO. AV SPICE. REGNO., weight 2.88g (cf.Brooker 571; N.2235; S.2805). Toned, some light corrosion on obverse legend, a couple of rim chips, about very fine, reverse stronger, a decent example of first dated coin of this reign.
