Charles I (1625-49), silver Crown, Tower Mint, type I, armoured King on horseback left with raised sword, caparisoned horse with plume on head and rump, Latin legend and beaded borders surrounding both sides, initial mark cross calvary both sides (1625-26), struck over lis on obverse, .CAROLVS. D; G; MAG; BRI; FR; ET. HIB; REX., rev. long cross fourchee over quartered shield of arms, no stops in legend, CHRI STO AV SPICE REGNO, weight 30.03g (Brooker 236; Cooper dies II*/VII; N.2190; S.2753). Toned, unevenly on obverse perhaps the result of being once cleaned, edge flan flaw, a few light surface marks, practically very fine and appears to be superior to the Brooker example of the same dies, rare.
