Charles I (1625-49), silver Halfcrown, York Mint, Type 6, armoured King on horseback left, beaded borders with abbreviated Latin legend with lozenge stops surrounding, initial mark lion, CAROLVS. D: G: MAG. BRIT. FRAN. ET. HIB. REX., rev., Crowned oval quartered shield, crowned C to left, crowned R to right, Latin legend surrounding, CHRISTO. AVSPICE. REGNO., weight 14.48g (Bull 570; Besly 3-C; Brooker 1084A this coin, N.2314; S.2868). Toned, struck a little off-centre on obverse, raised die flaws on lower right quadrant of reverse, black flan flaw at crowned C on reverse, otherwise almost extremely fine and a pleasing coin.
