Charles I (1625-49), silver Sixpence, Tower Mint, group C, type 2b with plumes over reverse shield, made from silver mined in Wales, third crowned bust in ruff left, value VI in field behind, initial mark rose (1631-32) both sides, Latin legend and beaded borders surrounding both sides, CAROLVS. D; G; MAG; BR; FR; ET HI; REX., rev. crowned oval quartered shield of arms, Welsh plumes between C and R above, .CHRISTO. AVSPICE. Toned a little weak on the high points, but with a decent face and better than usually seen, with a great provenance, a bold very fine, rare.
