Charles I (1625-49), silver Sixpence, Tower Mint, group E, type 42, fifth larger crowned bust left, value VI in field behind, initial mark triangle (1639-40) both sides, Latin legend and beaded borders surrounding both sides, CAROLVS. D; G; MAG; BRI; FRA; ET HB; REX, note letter I missing in Irish title, rev. cross fleur over crowned quartered shield of arms, .CHRISTO. AVSPICE. REGNO., weight 2.85g (Francis 4a; cf.Brooker 640; N.2245; S.2816). Toned, interesting with the legend error on obverse, a bold and pleasing very fine, good portrait, rare.
