Charles I (1625-49), gold Unite, group B, class 1a/1b, bust 2a, second crowned and draped bust in ruff left, wider crown, value XX in field behind, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, initial mark upright anchor struck over castle both sides (1628-29), no stops at mint mark and only after abbreviated words, CAROLVS D; G; MAG; BR; FR; ET HI; REX, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, legend without stops and toothed border surrounding, FLORENT CONCORDIA REGNA, weight 9.04g (Brooker 43 this coin; cf.Schneider 124; N.2148; S.2687). Toned, a little weakly struck in parts, very fine and a rare overstrike with an excellent provenance.
