Charles II (1660-85),gold Two Guineas, 1681, reverse double struck, the undertype dramatically off-centre with part of a second thistle headed sceptre showing to right of regular one, second laureate head right, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, CAROLVS. II. DEI. GRATIA,rev.crowned cruciform shields, sceptres in angles, four interlinked Cs at centre, date either side of top crown, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, .MAG. BR. FRA. ET. HIB REX. (Schneider 435; Bull EGC 219 R3; MCE 45; S.3335).Toned with a light red hue, wear to high points, flaw in 81 of date, with a great number of tiny digs around the base of the bust and obverse field meaning it has been slabbed and graded by NGC as details tooled, without the rotational overstrike being noted, rare and very unusual.
