Charles II (1660-85), silver Shilling, first hammered issue (1660-61), crowned bust left, without mark of value, legend and toothed borders surrounding both sides, initial mark crown both sides, no stops either side of mint mark on obverse, CAROLVS. II. D. G. MAG. BRIT. FR. ET. HIB. REX, rev. long cross fourchée over quartered shield of arms, more squat smaller harp with seven strings, .CHRISTO. AVSPICE. REGNO., weight 6.02g (Bull 273; ESC 1009; N.2762; S.3308). Toned, a little double struck with light die striations on field combined with some tooling marks contemporary to time of striking, otherwise good very fine.
