Edward III (1327-77), silver Half-Groat of Twopence, Treaty period (1361-69), Calais Mint (February 1363 to April 1365), facing crowned bust within double tressure of nine arcs, annulet on cusp below, trefoil on each other cusp, beaded circles and legend surrounding, double annulet stops with Treaty style X, +EDWARDVS: REX: AnGL: DnS: hyB, rev. long cross pattee, tri-pellets in each inner angle, beaded circles and double concentric legends surrounding some letter disjointed, VIL LA C ALE SIE, double saltire stops in outer legend, +POSV Ixx DEVm xADIVTO R.Exx mEV, pellet tail to R, weight 2.21g (DIG p.35, 1ii/1; N.1263; S.1623). Toned, some slight undulation to flan and weak in one part, otherwise very fine.
