Edward III (1327-77), silver Half-Groat of Twopence, Treaty period (1361-69), London Mint, facing crowned bust within double tressure of nine arcs, trefoil on each cusp including breast and over crown, beaded circles and legend surrounding, double annulet stops with Treaty style X, +EDWARD: D: G: REX: ANGL: DnS: hYB, rev. long cross pattee, tri-pellets in each inner angle, beaded circles and double concentric legends surrounding some letter disjointed, CIVI TAS LON DON inner legend with reversed Ns, double saltire stops in outer legend, +POSV I xxDEVm ADIVTO RExx mEV, weight 1.89g (DIG p.33, 4/4; N.1259; S.1620). Lightly toned, uneven in shape, with a good portrait, not dissimilar to the front cover picture of the Galata Guide to Half-Groats, good very fine.
