Edward IV, second reign (1471-83), gold Angel, Tower Mint, London, St Michael killing dragon with lance, one foot on dragon, beaded circle surrounding, initial mark annulet on obverse only (1471-72), trefoil stops with abbreviated Latin legend both sides, EDWARD'x DEIx GRA REXx AnGL'xZ FRAnCx, rev. ship sailing right, quartered shield upon hull, cross above, E to left, rose to right, PERx CR VSE' TVA'x SALVA'x nOSx XPC' REDETO', weight 5.11g (Schneider 459; N.1626; S.2091). Toned with a nice red hue, well struck on a broad flan with a good face and detail on St Michael, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as AU55.
