Edward IV, first reign (1461-70), silver Groat, light coinage (1464-70), Bristol Mint, class VII, facing crowned bust with B on cusp at base of breast, quatrefoil in saltire each side of neck, within double tressure of nine arcs, trefoil on six cusps, beaded circles and legend surrounding, pellet stops, initial mark sun (1465-70), EDWARD DI GRA REX. AnGL Z FRAnC, rev. long cross pattée, tri-pellets in each inner angle, beaded circles and double concentric legends surrounding, VIL LA B RIS TOLL, the I is struck over an E, legend with trefoil stops, small cross or quatrefoil possibly at start of legend, +POSVI DEVm' A DIVTOR E'x mEVm, weight 3.15g (N.1580; S.2004). Dark tone, weak in parts, very fine, reverse better, with a nice mint reading and overstuck letter.
