Edward IV, first reign (1461-70), silver Groat, light coinage (1464-70), London Mint, class Vd, facing crowned bust, quatrefoil each side of neck, within double tressure of nine arcs, fleur on six cusps, beaded circles and legend surrounding, pellet stops, initial mark rose (1468-69), EDWARD DI GRA REX. AnGL Z FRAnC, rev. long cross pattée, tri-pellets in each inner angle, extra pellet in quarter below DON, beaded circles and double concentric legends surrounding, CIVI TAS LOn DOn, legend with trefoil stops, POSVI DEVm' A DIVTOR E'x mEVm, weight 2.87g (N.1568; S.2000). Unevenly toned on a slightly undulating flan, some light surface marks, about very fine and with a hoard provenance.
