Edward IV, first reign (1461-70), silver Groat, light coinage (1464-70), Bristol Mint, class VII, facing crowned bust with B on cusp at base of breast, quatrefoil each side of neck, within double tressure of nine arcs, trefoil on six cusps, beaded circles and legend surrounding, pellet stops, initial mark crown (1467-68), EDWARD DI GRA REX. AnGL Z FRAnC, rev. long cross pattée, tri-pellets in each inner angle, beaded circles and double concentric legends surrounding, VIL LA B RIS TOW, the R is struck over a B, legend with trefoil stops, initial mark sun, *POSVI DEVm' A DIVTOR E'x mEVm, weight 2.91g (N.1580; S.2004). Dark tone, weak in parts, with small flan split, very fine, reverse better, with overstruck letter.
