George III 1764 Guinea, second bust, no stop over head, very rare variety
George III (1760-1820), gold Guinea, 1764, second laureate head right, legend GEORGIVS. III DEI. GRATIA., no stop over head, toothed border around rim both sides, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, date either side of crown, legend M.B.F.ET.H. REX. F.D.B. ET.L.D.S.R.I.A.T ET.E., weight 8.32g (Schneider -; Bull EGC 674 R; MCE 369; Farey 1045 VR; S.3726). Toned, peppered with surface marks and hairlines, raised die flaw in obverse field with some old graffiti, otherwise about very fine and very rare to see in grades above fine and without the over head stop in legend.
