George III (1760-1820), Brown Gilt Proof copper Halfpenny, 1788, Soho Mint Birmingham, late period, laureate head right, D.F. raised on truncation for "Droz Fecit" meaning made by Jean Pierre Droz engraver, legend with four diamond stops surrounding and outer toothed border, GEORGIUS III. D. G. REX., rev. inverted die axis, Britannia seated left in robe with leaf and berry pattern to hem, seated on globe holding spear and wreath leaning against heraldic shield, D on ground line for Droz, paddle and palm branch in exergue, legend with date surrounding, BRITANNIA. 1788., edge inscribed in raised letters, RENDER TO CESAR THE THINGS WHICH ARE CESARS:+ (Peck 966 DH11). Hairlined, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as PF61.
