George III (1760-1820), silver Shilling, last coinage, 1819, the 9 of date struck over an 8, laureate head right, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEOR: III D: G: BRITT: REX F: D: rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, within buckled garter, French motto HONI. SOIT. Q MAL. Y. PENSE. initials of William Wellesley Pole "WW P" incuse on left shield border, incuse W on right shield border for engraver Thomas Wyon, weight 5.68g (Bull 2155; ESC 1235C; Davies 88; S.3790). Toned slabbed and graded by NGC as MS64 though they have not noted the overdate which is quite obvious within the top loop of the 9, very rare so well preserved.
