George IV (1820-30), Pattern silver Halfcrown, 1820, first laureate head left, widely spaced ribbon ties at rare of head, raised center spot on ear lobe, raised B.P. below neck for engraver and designer Benedetto Pistrucci, Latin legend surrounding differently spaced to currency version, outer ribbon points to X rather than before, nose points between two letter Is, GEORGIUS IIII D:G: BRITANNIAR: REX F: D: rev. inverted die axis, crowned garnished quartered shield of arms, rose below, shamrocks to right with raised W W and P at centre of each, thistle to left with seven fronds to left left side of left leaf, ANNO and 1820 to either side below, edge milled, weight 14.11g (ESC 649B; Bull 2380 R5; Adams 610). Toned practically as struck, and of the highest rarity, has been graded and slabbed by NGC as PF64.
