Henry VI, first reign (1422-61), silver Halfpenny, London Mint, cross pellet issue (1454-61), facing crowned head of King, saltire cross on neck, pellet either side of crown, Latin legend and beaded borders surrounding both sides, initial mark plain cross, mullet stops, hnRIC'* REX ANGLI, rev. long cross pattee, trio of pellets in each angle, no extra pellets, CIVI TAS LOn DOn, weight 0.36g (Withers SPM.3a; N.1524; S.1943). Two small rim splits, attractive dark tone, reverse cross ghosts through to obverse with associated weakness, otherwise a bold very fine and scarce last issue for this reign.
