Henry VIII (1509-47), posthumous issue under King Edward VI, Gold Crown of the Double Rose with a nominal value of five shillings, posthumous coinage (1547-51), first period, Tower Mint II, large crowned rose, crowned H to left, crowned R to right, beaded circle surrounding, Roman style lettering with lozenge stops, initial mark martlet (1550-51) both sides, HENRIC'. 8. RVTILA'. ROS'. SIN'. SPI', rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, crowned H to left, crowned R to right, DEI'. GRA'. AGL'. FRA'. Z' HIB'. REX.:, weight 2.72g (Schneider 662; N.1867; S.2395). Toned, flan a little undulating with two tiny rim splits, otherwise very fine and a very rare mint mark.
