Henry VIII (1509-47), silver Groat, Tower Mint, bust 1, right ¾ facing crowned bust in ruff, beaded circle and Latin legend surrounding, initial mark lis (1544-47) both sides, lombardic lettering both sides, hEnRIC'x 8x D'x G'x AGL'x FRA'x Zx hIB'x REX, rev. long cross fourchee over quartered shield of arms, annulet in each fork, beaded circles and legend surrounding, +POSVI DEV'x' A DIVTOR E'x' mEV, weight 2.60g (N.1844; S.2369). Toned, edge a little weak in parts, otherwise with a bold facial portrait of the Holbein style Henry, good very fine and highly desirable as such.
