Henry VIII (1509-47), posthumous issue under Edward VI, silver Halfgroat, Tower Mint, right ¾ facing crowned bust in ruff, beaded circle and Latin legend surrounding, initial mark lis (1544-47) obverse only, Roman lettering and lozenge stops both sides, HENRIC'. 8: D'. G'. AG'. FR'. Z. H'. REX, rev. long cross fourchee over quartered shield of arms, beaded circles and legend surrounding, POSVI DEV' AD IVTOR E'. MEV., weight 1.15g (Stewartby page 528; N.1877; S.2410). Toned, a bold very fine and highly unusual as mint mark lis.
