Henry VIII (1509-47), posthumous issue under Edward VI (1547-51), base silver Groat, Canterbury Mint, bust 5, right ¾ facing crowned bust in ruff, beaded circle and Latin legend surrounding, no initial mark, Roman lettering both sides with lozenge stops, HENRIC'. 8. D'. G'. AGL'. FRA'. Z. hI'. REX., rev. long cross fourchée over quartered shield of arms, beaded circles and legend surrounding, CIVI TAS CAN TOR, weight 2.42g (Laker D; N.1875; S.2408). Toned, weakly struck in parts, very fine for issue and this mint.
