James I (1603-25),gold Quarter-Laurel of Five Shillings, third coinage (1619-25), laureate and draped bust left, bracket shape ties, value behind, Latin legend and beaded borders surrounding on both sides, initial mark trefoil (1624), IACOBVS D: G: MAG: BR: FR: ET HI: REX,rev.long cross fourchée over crowned quartered shield of arms, HENRIC .9 ROSAS REGNA IACOB;, weight 2.18g (Schneider 100; N.2119; S.2642A). Flan somewhat irregular, reverse off centre with a scrape, otherwise good very fine, reverse a little weaker.
