James II (1685-88), silver Sixpence, 1686, date with first 6 over a lower 6 and 8 over 6, laureate and draped bust left, legend and toothed border surrounding, IACOBVS. II. DEI. GRATIA, rev. crowned cruciform shields, five strings to Irish harp, garter star at centre, date either side of top crown, legend and toothed border surrounding, .MAG BR. FRA ET. HIB REX., weight 3.01g (cf.ESC 1525; Bull 774 R; S.3413). Toned well struck, just a hint of cabinet friction, practically extremely fine with a good provenance.
