James VI 10 shilling & Charles I 20 pence as a Scottish coin silver spoon
Birmingham, Levi and Salaman, Coin Spoon, plain stem incorporating a spindle design, hallmarks reveal made in 1918 from two Stuart Scottish coins, weight 16.02g, the dished bowl being Scotland, James VI (1567-1625), silver Ten Shillings, Seventh coinage, 1598, bare head armoured bust right, within inner and outer beaded circles with legend, initial mark floral cinquefoil both sides, IACOBVS. 6. D. G. R. SCOTORVM, rev. crown over thistle plant within circle, .NEMO. ME. IMPVNE. LACESETT. 1598., date in legend, (S.5493), with the top of the handle having Scotland, Charles I (1625-49), silver Twenty Pence, third coinage (1637-42), Thomas Falconer's anonymous issue, type III with F at end of reverse legend, crowned bust to bottom of coin otherwise within linear circle, value XX behind head no lozenges, inner linear circle legend and outer beaded circle surrounding both sides, legend commences top right, pellet stops, CAR. D. G. SCOT. ANG. FR. ET. HIB. R.,rev.crowned thistle, legend commences upper right, .IVST. THRONVM. FIRMAT. F, (S.5588). Coins polished the first dished as the bowl and both soldered to stem, a very nice presentation with some skill rendered to construct it, very fine and interesting, the coins rare.
