Nero (A.D. 54-68), Silver Denarius. Mint of Rome, struck c. A.D. 65-6. NERO CAESAR AVGVSTVS, laureate head facing right, rev. VESTA, temple of Vesta, of circular hexastyle construction, with a domed roof, containing a statue of Vesta, seated facing, holding a patera and a sceptre, 3.47g., 7h (RIC 62; BMC 104). A very good example of this attractive architectural type, some residual lustre beneath light iridescent toning, about extremely fine.
