Oliver Cromwell (d.1658), silver Dutch version Crown, issued in the Low Countries circa 1700, dated 1658, laureate and draped bust left, top of laurel wreath points to inverted N in Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, OLIVAR. D. G. R. P. ANG. SCO. HIB &c PRO, rev. inverted die axis, crowned quartered shield of arms of the Protectorate, date above, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, PAX. QVÆRITVR. BELLO, edge inscribed in raised letters, NEMO. HAS. NISI. PERITVRVS. MIHI. ADIMAT. NEMO * weight 31.21g (Bull 243 R3; ESC 11; L&S 2; S.3226A). A little weak around the edge inscription, light nicks, digs and hairline scratches both sides, perhaps once cleaned many years ago, with a light tone, almost extremely fine and very rare.
