P. Crepusius (82 B.C.), Silver Denarius. Mint of Rome. Laureate head of Apollo facing right, a sceptre over his far shoulder, a poppy-head with stalk (only partially visible) below chin, rev. horseman prancing right, brandishing a spear, IXVII behind, P CREPVSI in exergue, 3.91g., 4h (Crawford 361/1c; Sydenham 738a; RBW 1368 var.). Beautiful iridescent cabinet tone, good extremely fine.
