Richard II (1377-99), silver Halfgroat of Twopence, type II without French title, facing crowned bust within double tressure of nine arcs, fleur on each cusp, three pellets around central fleur of crown, beaded circles and legend surrounding, saltire stops, +RICARD'x DIxx GRAxx REXx AnGLIE, rev. long cross pattee, tri-pellets in each inner angle, beaded circles and double concentric legends surrounding, CIVI TAS LON DON, inner legend, +POSVI DEVmxx A DIVTOR Emxx mEV, weight 2.06g (D.I.G. II - 3/3; N.1322; S.1682). A little scratched and waterworn, probably once in the ground, weak in parts though vital details clear, good fine to almost very fine and rare.
