Richard III (1483-85), gold Angel of six shillings and eight pence, Type 3, St Michael slaying dragon right, Latin legend and beaded border surrounding on both sides, initial mark halved sun and rose 2 (1483-85) both sides, saltire stops, RICARDx DIx GRAx REXx AnGLx Z FRAnCx x, rev. ship sailing right, quartered shield at centre, R and rose above with cross, PER CRVCE'x TVAx SALVA nOS XPCx REDEMPT, weight 5.13g (Schneider 497; N.1677; S.2152). Attractively toned, a little double struck on head of St Michael, reverse well-struck, good very fine, reverse better and very rare.
