Scotland, Alexander III (1249-86), silver long cross Penny, second coinage (c.1280-86), type D, crowned head and sceptre left, within beaded inner circle, legend and outer beaded circle surrounding, +ALEXAND.ER DEI GRA, lettering with straight sided uprights, wedge tailed R, rev. long cross pattée, pierced mullet of six points in two opposing angles, seven points in other two angles, beaded circles and legend surrounding, REX SCO TOR VM+, weight 1.39g (Burns 55 fig.162; S.5057). Toned, some ghosting of reverse cross onto obverse, otherwise a bold very fine.
