Scotland, Alexander III (1249-86), silver long cross Penny, second coinage (c.1280-86), type E, crowned head and sceptre left, within beaded inner circle, legend and outer beaded circle surrounding, +ALEXAND.ER DEI GRA, lettering with incurved uprights, wedge tailed R, tiny upper pellet between D and E, rev. long cross pattée, pierced mullet of five points in each angle, beaded circles and legend surrounding, REX SCO TOR VM+, weight 1.40g (Burns 32 fig.165; S.5056). Toned, some ghosting of reverse cross onto obverse, otherwise a bold very fine.
