Scotland, Charles I (1625-49), silver Twenty Pence, third coinage (1637-42), Thomas Falconer's first issue (1637-38), type IV with F only over crown on reverse, crowned bust left breaking inner linear circle, value XX behind head, inner linear circle legend and outer beaded circle surrounding both sides, legend commences lower left, no initial mark, pellet stops, CAR. D: G. MAG. BR. FR. ET. HIB. REX., rev. crowned thistle, legend commences upper right, .IVSTITIA. THRONVM. FIRM, followed by F prone over crown (cf.Burns 47; S.5589). Toned has been graded and slabbed by PCGS as VF20, unrecorded readings in Burns, therefore extremely rare.
