Scotland, James IV (1488-1513), gold Half-Unicorn of Nine Shillings, variety with no stops either side and Roman N in legend, Unicorn facing left, shield of Scottish arms in front, ring with chain below, horn of unicorn breaks inner beaded circle, legend and outer beaded circle surrounding, initial mark fleur de lis both sides, +IACOBVS DEI GRACIA REX SCOTOR, rev. sun of twelve rays over cross fleury, beaded circles and legend surrounding, +EXVRGAT DES ET DISIPENT NImICI (Burns as James III 5 fig.635; S.5321). Toned with some surface marks, struck a little off-centre, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as F12 and extremely rare.
