Scotland, James VI (1567-1625), silver Two Thirds Ryal of Twenty Scottish Shillings, 1568, crowned Scottish arms, crowned I to left, crowned R to right, cross on crown breaks beaded inner circle, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, IACOBVS. 6. DEI. GRATIA. REX. SCOTORVM., rev. crown over sword covering tip, date 15 68 either side, hand at left pointing to blade, value XX to right, Latin legend and toothed borders surrounding, .: PRO. ME. SI. MEREOR. IN. ME ., weight 19.92g (SCBI 35:-; SCBI 58:1355; SCBI 71:1074 Stewartby; Burns 3, fig 922; S.5474). Toned with striking weakness at one part of rim, rare especially without the revaluation countermark of 1578, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as XF40 and finer than the Stewartby piece.
