Scotland, Robert II (1371-90), silver Groat, Perth Mint, crowned head left, sceptre before with small star at base of handle, double tressure of six arcs surrounding broken by neck, small trefoils in spandrels, beaded circles and legend surrounding, +ROBERTVS++ DEI++ GRA++ REX++ SCOTTORVM, rev. long cross pattee, pierced mullet in each inner angle, beaded circles and twin concentric legends surrounding, outer legend +DnS+̯ P TECTOR m'S +I+ LIB ATORm'S, inner legend, VILL ADE PER Thx, weight 3.69g (Burns 10 fig.317; S.5136). Toned, a little uneven in shape and subsequently weak in part of legend both sides, otherwise a bold very fine.
