Sicily, Syracuse (Deinomenid Tyranny, 485-466 B.C.), Silver Tetradrachm. Struck c. 485-483 B.C. Charioteer, wearing a long chiton and holding a kentron and the reins, driving a slow quadriga right, Nike flies above to crown the horses, rev. : ΣVRA - KOΣI - O - N, head of Arethusa facing right, her hair tied with a beaded fillet, and wearing an earring and a necklace, four dolphins swimming clockwise around, 17.00g., 12h (Boehringer 45 (V26/R29); Gillet 531 (this coin); Rizzo pl.
