III. ANGL. REX within a circular temple dedicated MEMORIÆ ÆTERNÆ, between the columns are RVSSEL, ASHBY, DELAVAL and ALLEMONDE, rev. Fame and Victory either side of a tablet on which Time inscribes the name of the ships lost by France, French ships sinking behind, VOTA ORBIS etc., on edge, MATVRATE FVGAM, REGIQVE OSTENDITE VESTRO, NON ILLI IMPERIVM PELAGI, 45mm (Eimer -; MI ii 67/272). Good extremely fine with much original reflective iridescence, rare.
