Victoria (1837-1901), silver Proof Groat, 1839, young filleted head left, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA D: G: BRITANNIAR: REGINA F: D:, rev. struck en medaille, Britannia seated right with trident and shield, date in exergue, FOUR PENCE legend surrounding, edge milled (Bull -; ESC -; Davies -; cf.S.3913). Attractively toned, with a couple of light spots, otherwise practically as struck, has been slabbed by CGS UK as milled proof CGS variety 05, graded as CGS78, unpublished.
