Victoria (1837-1901), silver Shilling, 1842, variety with the last D on obverse struck over an F, second young head left, legend VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITANNIAR: REG: F: D:, the last D struck over an F, toothed border around rim both sides, rev. inverted die axis, ONE / SHILLING in two lines at centre of crowned laurel and oak wreath, date below, edge milled, weight 5.66g (cf.Bull 2987; cf.Davies 856; cf.ESC 1288; S.3904). Toned, extremely fine, the discovery piece as written up in Coin News Magazine December 2009 by Christopher Tasker, still the only example the cataloguer has seen, extremely rare.
