Victoria (1837-1901), gold Sovereign, 1855, second larger young filleted head left, W.W. raised on truncation for engraver William Wyon, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, laurel wreath surrounding, emblems below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF:, edge milled, 7.95g (Bentley 72; Marsh 38A R5; S.3852C). Toned, raised die flaw to the left of 1 of date, the raised WW is clear, vertical hairline scratch on head, toning and surface marks around design on both sides, three nicks on reverse, good fine and very rare.
