Victoria (1837-1901), gold proof Half-Sovereign, 1887, Golden Jubilee issue, crowned and veiled Jubilee style bust left, I.E.B. on truncation for designer Joseph Edgard Boehm, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, rev. struck en medaille, crowned quartered shield of arms, date below, BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF:, edge milled, weight 3.93g (WR 362; Hill 478G; S.3869). Some light handling marks and hairlines, hairline scratches in obverse field, toned on reverse, the coin a little dished as usual with these small gold proofs of 1887 as there was clearly more pressure on the reverse die in the strike to being the obverse relief outward, good extremely fine, practically as struck.
