St George and dragon right, wide date in exergue, B.P. to upper right for designer Benedetto Pistrucci, edge milled, weight 28.30g (Bull 2588; ESC 298A; Davies 481; S.3921). One tiny short scratch by R of REG, toned a little unevenly with underlying brilliance, otherwise the finest we have seen of this extremely rare wide date variety, the cataloguer is only aware of eight to ten examples in commerce.
