William and Mary (1688-94), gold Guinea, 1689, conjoined busts right, legend surrounding, GVLIELMVS. ET. MARIA. DEI. GRATIA, toothed border around rim both sides, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, later Irish harp with 6 strings, Lion of Nassau as an escutcheon at centre, date either side of crown, .MAG. BR. FR. ET. HIB. REX. ET. REGINA., weight 8.33g (Schneider 467; Bull EGC 360; Farey 0312 ER; MCE 148; S.3426). Toned with some fleck marks to right of obverse side, some die clash evident under busts where the figure 6 shows through incuse from date on reverse, weakly struck at centre both sides with some wear to high points, otherwise very fine.
