William III (1694-1702),silver Shilling, 1697 N, Norwich Mint, the 7 very small, probably from maundy puncheons, N below first laureate and draped bust right, legend and toothed border surrounding, GVLIELMVS. III.DEI.GRA.,rev.crowned cruciform shields, Lion of Nassau at centre, date either side of top crown, .MAG. BR.FRA. ET.HIB. REX., weight 5.95g (Bull 1187; cf.ESC 1099; S.3501).Toned though perhaps once cleaned, with heavy surface marks and scratches both sides and some weakness, otherwise a bold fine with an oddity to the date, rare.
