William IV (1830-37), silver Halfcrown, 1836, engraved by William Wyon, bare head right, W W italic script incuse on truncation, legend GULIELMUS IIII D: G: BRITANNIAR: REX F: D: with S over S in King's name, toothed border around rim both sides, rev. quartered shield of arms with a crowned escutcheon of the Arms of Hanover, within Order of the Garter upon crowned robed mantle, date below ANNO 1836, weight 14.14g (Bull 2484 R3; Davies 325; ESC 657; S.3834A). Lightly toned, almost extremely fine, Bull gives the variety as rare, but would seem to be light doubling on the legend in the striking.
