Anne (1702-14), gold Five Guineas, 1711, second draped bust left, Latin legend with pellet stops surrounding, ANNA. DEI. GRATIA. translates as "Anne by the Grace of God" toothed border surrounding, rev. crowned cruciform Post-Union emblematic dimidiated shields, emblematic sceptres in angles, rose at centre, date either side of top crown, abbreviated Latin legend, .MAG. BRI. FR. ET.HIB REG. translates as "Queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland" toothed border surrounding, edge inscribed in raised letters DECVS ET TVTAMEN ANNO REGNI DECIMO, translates as "An ornament and a safeguard, in the tenth year of the reign (Schneider 531; Bull EGC 451; King 147; Holloway 71; M.C.E. 202; S.3568). With some light flecking and very attractively toned, has been graded and slabbed by PCGS as MS62, the second finest graded.
